Signature Suite Miramare

The Signature Miramare Suite is the newest addition to the hotel, built in 2022 as part of the owner's renewal project. The Suite is entirely dedicated to Made in Italy and in particular to architect and designer Gio Ponti, an icon of Italian style in the last century. Located on the 5th floor, it enjoys a stunning sea view from its windows and balcony and is composed of a spacious living room, one-bedroom, walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom with bathtub, ample shower cabin and separate toilet room. The color scheme includes different shades of blue for the fabrics, the furniture and wood floor are in dark oak. In the living room, the famous Gio Ponti coffee table designed in the 50's for Singer & Sons and in the bedroom his iconic arm chair 1949 and the "Super leggera" chair, inspired by the light "chiavarine" chairs typical of the Tigullio area.

Additional important design elements are the sofa "Il Guscio" (the shell) and the chairs and arm-chairs (Hera Collection) created by Antonio Citterio, another very important Italian contemporary designer. And most importantly, the art work by Eileen Quinlan "Bluestar", as part of the hotel's contemporary art collection. All the fabrics and wallpapers are inspired by Gio Ponti prints, just like the bathroom tiles recall the colors and prints created for a hotel designed by the architect in the Amalfi Coast. Other design elements include: Gessi bathroom taps, lamps by Stilnovo, sliding doors, walk-in closet and other furniture elements by Rimadesio, one of the leading Italian brands for contemporary furnishings, SMEG 50's Style coffee machine and kettle, and Bose Bluetooth audio-speaker.

Pebbles and sand beach in front of the Hotel, the Bagni Miramare. Bar

This exquisite haven of charm is a real joy for interior-design aficionados. The bar counter was made with altar panels in a colour that sets the tone for the rest of the décor. The columns that give the bar its name are a feature of the terrace area with the white wrought-iron tables and chairs. It makes an inviting spot for an aperitif or snack with magnificent views across the bay, from the headland of Punta Mesco – a cherished haunt of poet Eugenio Montale, with the Cinque Terre hiding behind – to Sestri Levante, Chiavari, Zoagli and then Rapallo. Close by, Punta Pagana with its castle and villa is the residence of the Grand Master of the Knights Hospitaller. Service begins at 5.30 pm from June and September, when the Pool Bar is open.

Beach

The historic bathing facilities, the Bagni Miramare, directly in front of the hotel are famous throughout the riviera from Rapallo to Portofino. Access is free for GHM guests. The service includes a lounger, sun umbrella and terry towel, and spaces are allocated daily on a first-come-first-served basis, although advance booking for a period of your choice is offered at €50 per person per day.

Boardroom Meeting Space

The Miramare conference centre has been a magnet for MICE tourism since 1970. Home to the meetings of the Confindustria young industrialists group for over 40 years, this is a much sought-after location for its prestigious, well-equipped spaces and convenient vehicle access for setting up. The Miramare conference centre offers 6 rooms. The spacious Portofino room spans 260 sqm and accommodates 380 guests when fully opened up, or it can be partitioned to create 3 smaller spaces. An elegant, luminous room, its adaptable modular structure has the facilities to suit all requirements. Once a famous nightclub, the Shangri-là 1 room has a floor area of 190 sqm and a capacity of 165. Renovated and adorned in colours and décor evoking the original Art Nouveau ambience, this is the perfect place for a party, meeting or exhibition. The interconnected Shangri-là 2 room is of 35 sqm and has a capacity of 25. It can be used for coffee breaks, buffets and break-out meetings supporting the main event next door. It is ideal for exhibitions and as an office, press room, admin area or small meeting room. The Sala Tigullio has 80 square metres of space and can seat up to 80. The Veranda Marconi is a 70-sqm facility that can seat up to 70 as an auditorium. This versatile space of great charm and appeal is fully redecorated and refurbished, with generous panoramic windows on to the pool and the thriving Mediterranean garden. Named after the glorious bathing beach and nightclub that raised the roof in the 1950s and '60s, a favourite high-society haunt on the Italian and French Riviera, the Barracuda is now a contemporary piano bar with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and strictly after-dark mood. It is an ideal place for an aperitif, a glass or two of wine, or a nightcap for those times of year when outdoors is not the most inviting place to be. The wonderful setting bears the unmistakable signature of artist and set designer Lele Luzzati. His cream-coloured lounge with intimate upholstered alcoves suffused in soft light from the armed sconces exudes a stylish New York jazz bar theme. On the walls, look out for the photos of the Barracuda's celebrity visitors, a select gallery of the history of Italian chic.

Heated when the season demands, the superb seawater pool with its unmistakeably 1970s curved form is immersed in a marvellous setting where the rugged vegetation-laced cliffs plunge into the azure of the waves. The Mediterranean garden provides the backdrop, with oleanders and succulent beds edged by low dry-stone walls. In pride of place, the Berceau, a shady pergola of intertwined American vines, is the ideal corner for cocktails or a light summer lunch, with the immaculate yet informal Pool Bar service. Open from 9 am to 6 pm from mid April to mid October, it offers comfortable loungers with sun umbrellas and terry towels, plus the attentions of its dedicated staff.

Barracuda Beach Restaurant

Established in 1949, and formerly a famous nightclub hosting the best Italian jazz orchestras of the day, Barracuda Beach Club is a restaurant full of delicate and warm colors, teak tables and rattan chairs, and light and fluttering curtains.

On the shore, waves timidly touch the rocks, birds glide over the water, and boats pass by. Everything has a rhythmic flow while plates are passed across the table, spoons are laden with vongole, and arms are outstretched to pour the wine.
